| We are near the southern end of the chain of
Caribbean islands and just 13 degrees north of the Equator. We are 1,600miles south
of Miami, 100 miles West of Barbados, 74 miles north of Grenada and 24 miles south of St. Lucia.
St. Vincent, the mainland is 18 miles long and 11 miles wide and contains 133 square miles.
The islands of the Grenadines that extend to the southeast like a kite's tail add another 17
square miles to make a total of 150 square miles. How
Do You Get Here?
We do not yet have a major international airport, although we have
several small airports. This is one of the reasons why the country is still unspoilt and
perhaps not so well known. However, there is now an active interest in building a jetport in
order to earn more tourist dollars.
It is necessary for you to fly to an international airport in
Barbados, St. Lucia or Grenada then take a smaller aircraft to St. Vincent. |

We are a mere 35 minutes from Barbados and 20 minutes from
Grenada or St. Lucia. The Grenadine island of Canouan has direct flights from San Juan,
Puerto Rico by American Eagle (2 hours and 19 minutes).
You may, of course, come by yacht. St. Vincent has some fine anchorages at Blue Lagoon,
Young Island, Wallilabou, Kingstown and Princess Margaret Beach. We also have ports of
entry at Mustique, Union Island and Canouan.
Clearing Customs
If you are from the United Kingdom, Canada or the Unites States, you can gain entry with a
passport or proof of citizenship (like a birth certificate or voter's registration card).
Visitors from other countries must present a valid passport. You must all have a
return or onward ticket as well. When you leave our country, you are required to pay a
departure tax of EC $30.00 (US$12.00). |
